Seek a blessed joy that illuminates your path to happiness and let it vivify your spirit with ecstasy. Necessary though, is having a contrite heart, clean mind and generous spirit. This is the basis of having such a perfect gift from the Almighty. You will be the truest of lights that is ideal in your Christian walk of patience and perseverance. Barack Obama (b. 1961) the 44th President of the United States and first African American to hold this office said, “If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you will make progress.” Undoubtedly, a faith-walk will lead to bliss and an enlightened heart.

Not the Joy of the World

The joys of this world are fleeting. In the right way, worldly joy does not adapt and adjust as it should. True joy is the weapon of the spirit, defeating the terror of men that are troubled and distressed by their deeds. In the world there is filth, sin and a fear of the future. In the eyes of a Christian his future is always bright. He lives according to the promises of God and is faithful and kind to mankind. Nevertheless, like all worldly sinners, he faces temporary hardships that are like pin pricks as compared to the glorious life that awaits him in heaven.

Our world is confronted with an array of hardships. If it is not war, murder, or crime, much of it is sensual. Many earthlings hold their heads high, walk with their chests up and are puffed up. As its best this is a display of vanity. Time and time again, as people confront great struggles they suffer broken hearts although they continue to pretend that everything is fine. It must be remembered that we cannot depend on the things of this world for true comfort. We hear and see in the media empty praise and double talk of some that grovel on earth. As though bound in fetters, worldly types live by the wind of fickleness. An American poet, essayist and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson
(1803 – 1882) observed, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” To be true to oneself must be the aim of every Christian that lives in troubling places of this world.

Spreading Joy

It is right and just that a Christian go about his life spreading joy and hope to all. To be a true Christian is to live joyfully. Being sustained by the Holy Spirit, evangelize and minister constantly to others. As a light of the world and with humble heart walk confidently as a peacemaker in the midst of wolves. By embracing the ecstasy of your heart and mind love faithfulness, fly freely and with an elevated spirit, teach and proclaim the truth of all things seen and unseen. Such a walk will be completely filled with riches from the heavenly kingdom. Robert H. Schuller (1926 – 2015) an American Christian televangelist, pastor and motivational speaker testified to such a walk when he stated, “God flourished my ministry and my career of creative thinking, communicating and writing back 50 years.” In distinct ways over so many years, it was Schuller's belief that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ made his life's mission abundant.

Comforting Joy

In the Gospels of Comforting Joy, it is best to review Jesus', His disciples and apostolic teachings. Their testimonies and wisdom are like stars that mirror the bright lights of Christian life. By having a shield of faith, be steadfast in your understanding of the Word. It must be remembered that on the day of judgment we will have to account for the lives we have lived, and It is comforting to know that Christians of true faith can look forward to their heavenly consolation. They will be whiter than snow when all their sins are washed away. In our heart this is the spiritual fervor and belief that we must hold dear. To be comforted daily with blessedness, a pure heart and clean mind are the beginnings of a true faith-walk. By being strengthened inwardly, it will be right to claim that we would have ascended to sublime heights by the love of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It was Ann Landers (1918 – 2002) a Chicago Sun-Times advice columnist that reminded us, “Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and repeat to yourself; the most comforting words of all; this, too, shall pass.” For Christians, this realization is inevitable - for they also know the victory has already been won and supreme greatness awaits them in heaven.
